Frequently Asked Questions
The following questions
are examples of questions we get at EZ Cash every day. We love these questions
because they help us to help you. From time to time we will add questions
and answers of a general nature. We encourage you to e-mail
any questions you have that are not answered below. We will respond as
promptly as time permits with our best answers based on current information
or market conditions.
Q: CAN YOU
PROVIDE A QUOTE OR AN APPRAISAL ONLINE FOR AN ITEM?
A: We are unable
to provide an accurate quote of what we would pay for an item, sight unseen.
Also we are not able provide appraisals on items we have not had the opportunity
to personally inspect.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW
YOU'RE LEGITIMATE?
A: This is
an excellent place to start. I use the Internet myself and have come across
some scams in my day too. We are a liscensed and registered business in the State
of Florida, USA, with a store, and employees.
Please check with the following references: Florida Pawnbrokers Association,
National Pawnbrokers Association, A A
Classic Jewelers and Loan of Evanston, Illinois and Goldsmith Designer
Jewelers of Lynn Haven, Florida.
Q: WHY WOULD I
EVER USE A PAWNSHOP?
A: Another
good question, because many people never use a pawnshop. But from experience,
pawnshops are being discovered by intelligent Internet users of very modest
to higher income levels. These curious and value conscience shoppers are
becoming more and more aware of pawnshops. Pawnshops often have the same
brand name items and comparable items at very significant savings compared
to original retail prices. Where else can you buy a 27" color TV with remote for
less than $120.00?
Q: HOW DO I KNOW
WHAT I BUY ISN'T STOLEN?
A: All items
taken at a pawnshop, whether loaned upon or purchased, are listed with
a complete description. This list is provided to the local police and
is required by law. The law also requires that these items
be held for a minimum of 30 days before they are available for sale. During
this holding period, the police are given ample time to compare what pawnshops
have received, against theft, burglary and robbery reports, match item
descriptions and prevent the sale of stolen property. If the 30-day hold
period has passed and the police have not determined the property to be
stolen, the title to the property passes to the pawnbroker and the property
becomes available for sale. You can buy with the confidence that the items
offered for sale in a pawnshop are not stolen.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW
I'M GETTING FULL VALUE FOR MY ITEMS?
A: Value is
the variable. Retail value is what you pay in the retail store. Replacement
value is what it would cost to replace the item in the marketplace today.
Appraisal value is what your insurance company will use for a basis for
insurance premiums. Resale value is what you could sell your item for
to a willing buyer. Value is a variable and a perception. When we develop
a loan or buying value, we evaluate the components of the item presented.
For jewelry items, we use the cost to purchase "like" quality goods at wholesale
in the current marketplace. For bulk items, generally, average used wholesale
prices are implemented allowing for excessive wear and tear. These values
can range from 10% to 70% of retail store prices. Therefore, full value
for any item can only be the value that you are willing to accept for
the item you are offering.
Q: I DON'T LIVE
BY YOU, HOW DO I GET A LOAN?
A: Unfortunately,
in Florida you need to personally sign the pawn contract and you need
to present proper state issued identification. Unless you come visit us,
we would not be able to loan you any money. I would recommend visiting
a pawnbroker in your own community.
Q: MY VCR DOESN'T
WORK, CAN I STILL BORROW AGAINST IT?
A: The answer
to this question depends on the cause of the malfunction. Sometimes the
problem can be resolved with a good cleaning of the internal moving parts.
Sometimes the malfunction is more severe. We would have to inspect the
VCR to be sure. Remember to bring the remote control, or any additional accessory
parts that are considered standard, and indeed, necessary for the item to be
presented as complete.
Q: I NEED A GIFT
FOR MY WIFE, IT'S OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY?
A: Suggested
gift for the 10th anniversary is a diamond eternity band, with diamonds
all around the band. Of course, you're not limited to just that. After
10 years, she deserves something very special, say, a 2-3 carat diamond
replacement wedding set, a 3-7 carat tennis bracelet, a custom designed
cocktail ring or 2 carat pair diamond earrings. These are just examples.
Check our Anniversary List for more suggested
gifts by anniversary year.
Traditional guidelines suggest spending 2 months salary, but you should
give from the heart, we'll look out for your pocketbook.
Q: I WANT A LIST
OF BIRTHSTONES BY MONTH, DO YOU HAVE ONE?
A: Sure, follow

List.
Q: I HAVE MY GRANDPA'S
GOLD TEETH, WHAT CAN I GET?

buy most forms of gold in almost any condition. For further information,
